Clay & Ceramic Coffee Mugs

My sister, Nicole, and I are both known for drinking a ridiculous amount of coffee so each of us received coffee mugs for Christmas. I got "The Original Handwarmer Mug" from my aunt. She purchased it when she was on a wine tour in Skaneateles, NY. It is made out of clay and designed to keep your hands warm with a cute little pocket. They are made in both left handed and right handed styles making them friendly for everyone! Mine is a left handed one, of course. The tag that came with it states that the mug was created by Bob & Corina Neher and Handcrafted in the Clay in Motion Pottery Studio. You can find these mugs and their other clay products on their website.
This mug is perfect for me because I can't stand when my hands are cold. The slot seems absolutely perfect for the tips of my fingers. Usually even when I do have a handle on my mug I don't use it and instead 'hug' the mug with my hands. I have held it a few times, but have yet to actually drink out of it because it is still underneath my Christmas tree with hopes that I will soon find it a home.

Nicole was given a ceramic travel mug purchased on Etsy.com by my mom. Hers is a to-go mug that is ceramic, has no handles, and comes with plastic black top. The Etsy shop, MyPolkaDotPottery, that it came from has a lot of other types (also, plates and other goodies). Personally, I love the turquoise background with the brown designs throughout. It makes for much more unique mug than the ones that you find at Starbucks.
The only problem with Nicole's is that they absorb the heat and are sometimes too hot to touch right away. I know that they sell a cup sleeve at Starbucks that is gray and quite possibly made out of wool, but we have been searching for other ones and found these super cute cable knit ones that have a large button on the Natalya1905 Etsy Shop. The ones from there cost almost $20, which I thought was kind of a rip off even though they are really cute. When I continued looking I also found these fabric ones that are lined and also adjustable on TheChicoCozy Etsy Shop for only $8!

Also, my cousins got me a cup warmer that plugs into my computer via the USB. I am so pumped to use it while I work on homework or just play around on the computer when get back to the city. I tend to drink hot beverages all the time and sip at them until they are freezing cold. They said they found it pretty cheap at Target and they hope it actually works! I will let you guys know how everything works out.

Merry Christmas & Welcome

This year my New Years Resolution was to start a blog. I decided to start today because I have these wonderful pictures that my friend, Aaron, took at the Rugby (Ralph Lauren) store while he was visiting me in New York City. The garland and other decorations in the store looked absolutely fantastic. My favorite is the picture of the door going into the other part of the store. I think it is a great idea to keep up the basketballs that are there all year round and just add a little bit of Christmas cheer around them! Unfortunately, not all of the pictures turned out very good so I will only be posting a few of the photos. Also, while we were in the store we saw Jamie Bell. He is an actor and played Billy Elliot and was in Jumper and King Kong. I, of course, had no idea who he was until Aaron looked him up on the internet afterwords.

In the future, I will be posting everything from fashion ideas to arts and crafts projects. I am not going to make any promises about how often I will be posting, but there will probably be one post per week at the least. I hope to have less words and more pictures that either I have taken or have found somewhere. Sooner or later I will get the hang of everything, but for now it is all just a trial! Any type of feedback at all would be greatly appreciated.

Merry Christmas!
